Forget discordant school recorder lessons! Come and join us on a Monday, for a pleasant afternoon, making music, with like minded people.
We play a variety of recorders, from the little, high pitched Sopranino, to the lovely, mellow, tones of the Bass. The music ranges from early 17th century dances, to West End hits, and everything in between.
You do need to be a fairly competent player, even if your experience dates back to your junior school. It all comes back very quickly, once you start playing!

Bedford u3a Recorder Ensemble
We are a thriving group of enthusiastic recorder players. We have been playing together for a number of years now, and still enjoy our weekly meetings.
We play a wide variety of music, although traditionally recorder music tends to be from the Renaissance period when people enjoyed dancing to the various tunes.
We are fortunate in having descant, treble, tenor and bass players which gives a rich, mellow sound.
We like to perform in the u3a concerts twice a year, at the Christmas tree festival at St Paul's and when invited, at different local venues.
